Welcome to the 5 Sommeliers website. By accessing and using this website and our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use our website.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website 5sommeliers.com and any associated services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, as well as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. Description of Services
5 Sommeliers provides the following services:
- Monthly wine subscriptions: curated boxes by our sommeliers, available in 3 distinct tiers
- Wine recommendations: monthly selections with tasting notes and explanatory videos
- Online store: direct sale of wines selected by our sommeliers

3. User Account
To access certain services, you will need to create an account. Authentication is performed through a verification code sent to your email address (OTP, One-Time Password). We do not store passwords.
The user is responsible for:
- Keeping their email address up to date
- Ensuring that only they access their account
- All activities carried out under their account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that exhibit suspicious activity.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Billing cycle
Subscriptions are billed monthly. Your card is saved to your profile when you subscribe, without any charge, and each box is charged when it is dispatched.
Payment methods
We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. Payments are securely processed through a certified payment processor.
Cancellation and changes
You may cancel or modify your subscription at any time through the Subscriptions section of your profile. Cancellation and changes take effect from the first box that has not yet been charged. A box that has already been charged is shipped with the plan in force at the time of the charge. There is no minimum commitment period.
Price changes
Subscription prices may change. Any change is communicated by email at least 30 days in advance and only takes effect from the billing period following the notice. Until then, the current price applies. If you do not agree with the new price, you may change plan or cancel your subscription before the change takes effect, at no cost.
Founding Member discount
Founding Members receive a 20% discount on the current price of each box, on any plan and with no time limit. The discount is kept if you cancel and applies again if you subscribe again. Founding Member status is granted to the first subscriptions of the campaign, in the number stated on the campaign page, and the place of a member who cancels is not given to anyone else.
Refunds
Payments already processed for the current period are non-refundable. The wines included in subscription boxes may vary and are selected at the sole discretion of our sommeliers.
5. Shipping and Delivery
- For first-time subscribers, the first box is dispatched right after subscribing, when the subscription is placed by the 20th, mainland Portugal time. Subscriptions placed from the 21st onwards start with the following month's box, dispatched at the start of that month, so that you do not receive two boxes just a few days apart
- If you subscribe again after having been charged for a box, you receive the following month's box, dispatched at the start of that month. If you cancelled before any charge, you are treated as a first-time subscriber
- Subsequent boxes are dispatched at the start of each month
- Estimated delivery time is 2 to 4 working days for mainland Portugal
- Shipping costs are included in all subscription plans
- For islands (Azores and Madeira) and international orders, please contact us for additional information
5 Sommeliers is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or incorrect delivery information provided by the customer.
6. Age Restriction
The purchase of alcoholic beverages is legally restricted to persons aged 18 or over. By using our services and placing orders, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website (including, but not limited to, text, images, logos, videos, tasting notes and design) is the property of 5 Sommeliers or the respective rights holders and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Reproduction, distribution or use of any content without prior written authorisation is prohibited.
8. Limitation of Liability
5 Sommeliers will endeavour to ensure that all information presented on the website is accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee that the website will always be available, error-free, or that the content will be free from inaccuracies.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 5 Sommeliers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our services.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with Portuguese law. Any disputes arising shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
10. Changes to Terms and Contact
We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be published on this page with the revised update date. Continued use of the website after the publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
