Dedication and Respect for Wine
António Lopes discovered his passion for wine in 2008, after completing his training in Hospitality and Management at EHTC. At Vila Vita Parc, he had the opportunity to learn alongside sommelier Paulo Duarte, an experience that sparked the curiosity that would transform into a solid career.
At the renowned Gleneagles in Scotland, he developed in-depth knowledge of wines, spirits, and whiskies, further reinforcing his enthusiasm.

Career Path
He worked at reference restaurants such as Buhle and Foz Velha, as well as other hotel units, until returning to the Algarve to join the opening team of the Conrad Algarve. As head sommelier, he was responsible for creating the wine list and defining the service concept.
The year 2014 marked a high point: he participated in the project Taste Portugal and was distinguished as Sommelier of the Year by Revista Wine. The following year, he received the awards for Best Wine Service (Revista Wine) and Art of Service (Portuguese Gastronomy Academy). In 2017, he joined the Minor group as Wine Guru at the Anantara Vilamoura Hotel, where he created the project's wine concept and the wine list, which was later awarded the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator.

Future
He currently collaborates with Revista de Vinhos, develops training courses, and provides consultancy to various projects, establishing himself as an essential name in the Portuguese sommelier scene.
His trajectory reflects a serene dedication, guided by curiosity and respect for wine.
