Ambassador of Portuguese Wines in the World
Nuno Jorge is a Portuguese sommelier who stands out for the international promotion of national wines, with special focus on the authenticity and diversity.
Natural of Coimbra, he started in the restaurant industry early, an area where he discovered his passion for wine, consolidated over more than 20 years of experience. He trained as a Sommelier at the Estoril Hotel and Tourism School and was certified by WSET, building a solid career that combines technical knowledge with a global vision.
Career Path
His work has been widely recognized: he was named Sommelier of the Year 2016 by Wine magazine, has served as a judge in national and international competitions for almost two decades, and is a regular presence at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where he received the Benchmark's Taster award in 2018. He is also on the jury of the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards and the Concurso de Vinhos de Portugal.
Future
He is the founder of The Flying Cork, a company dedicated to the distribution and international promotion of Portuguese wines, Brand Ambassador for Casas Altas, Private Sommelier for exclusive events, and responsible for the internationalization of producers from north to south of the country. In parallel, he dedicates himself to training, conducting courses, workshops, and guided tastings.
